EIA Safe Sport 01 – Statement of Commitment to Child Safety
At Erina Ice Arena, the safety and well-being of all children entering our venue is our priority. We are
dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where all children can thrive
whilst enjoying ice skating, whether recreationally or in ice sports.
We are committed to the following principles:
- Child-focused Environment
We prioritise the needs and interests of all children, ensuring that their voices are heard, and
their rights are respected. - Safety Policies and Procedures
We have implemented comprehensive safety policies and procedures to protect children
from harm. This includes regular training for our staff and rink coaches on child safety and
abuse prevention. - Background Checks
All staff as well as contracted home and visiting coaches undergo background checks to
ensure a safe environment for our skaters. - Open Communication
We encourage open communication between skaters, families, our associated home clubs,
visiting groups and our rink staff. We take all concerns seriously and have established clear
reporting procedures for any issues related to child safety. - Education and Training
We provide ongoing education and training for our staff and rink coaches on child safety,
including recognising signs of abuse and neglect, and how to respond appropriately. - Inclusive Culture
We celebrate diversity and promote an inclusive culture where every child feels valued and
respected, regardless of their background or ability. - Regular Review and Improvement
We commit to regularly reviewing our policies and practices to ensure they are effective and
aligned with best practices in child safety.
By upholding these principles, Erina Ice Arena aims to foster a positive and safe environment that
allows all children to enjoy the benefits of ice skating while minimising risks. We believe that
through our collaborative efforts with our staff, coaches, associated home clubs and skating
community we can maintain a venue where every child is protected, respected, and empowered.
